04 Mar You can afford to be successful
Dallas Buyers Club won three Oscars Sunday night. This amazing film almost did not get made until a Houston investor stepped in and financed the film. Even then, it was a low budget effort. How low budget you ask? The makeup budget for the entire film was $250. Sunday night, the Academy Award for Best Makeup and Hairstyling was awarded to Adruitha Lee and Robin Mathews for Dallas Buyers Club. If you really want to succeed, you will find a way.
You don’t have to go in debt to succeed.

Our Oscar weekend was surreal from beginning to end. One of the highlights was meeting 21 Jump Street‘s Holly Robinson Peete and her daughter, Ryan. The two collaborated on My Brother Charlie, a book based on Holly’s 10-year-old son, who has autism. In the book, Charlie’s big sister tells us that for everything that Charlie can’t do well, there are plenty more things that he’s good at. He knows the names of all the American presidents. He knows stuff about airplanes. And he can even play the piano better than anyone he knows. It is a lovely book. If autism has touched your life in any way, buy the book on Amazon.
