24 Mar We are having a party, you are invited
RSVP is not optional. This phrase often added to most invitations is a French phrase, répondez, s’il vous plaît – which loosely translates to – please let us know if you are coming so we can have the correct amount of food, drink, and help on hand otherwise don’t come because that would be rude. OK. Maybe that’s our translation. It is only going to take you a few seconds to say yes or no, do so. Your lack of response just adds to your reputation and you may never be invited again. In addition, never RSVP yes and then blow the event off. Merci to the tipsters who sent this in – you know who you are …
We used to have a large holiday party every year – we stopped 12 years ago when 50 people RSVP’d and 300 showed up.
Last week’s adventure in Cuba was filled with black beans, rice, pork, garlic and rum. Lots of rum. Although incredible food, we are ready for a little variety this week. HelloFresh arrives Thursday and we can’t wait. This week? Chicken Yakitori with Chuka Soba Stir-Fry, Steak Tagliata with Roasted Sweet Potato Wedges & Watercress Salad and Pistachio-Crusted Basa with Za’atar Brussels Sprouts & Dilled Couscous. Fresh ingredients, easy recipes (each meal takes around 30 minutes to make) and a selection of food my non-chef brain could have never come up with. Here’s a coupon for $40 off your first $69 box – three meals, each serves 2-3 people, 4 in our case.
