04 Jun The phone’s for you
The phone can be your personal key to success. You can email, text, insta, or snap all day long, but you can’t ignore the power of a person-to-person connection. By getting on the phone and taking a genuine interest in the individual at hand, that person will be much more inclined to take an interest in whatever it is you are selling. An email can never do this. Move out of your comfort zone and make at least one cold call a day. Instead of focusing on what you need from the individual, focus on the person you are speaking with. Who is it? What do they do? What do they need? What does what you are selling (and yes, we are all selling something) do for them? It’s easy to do this, just ask a couple of questions – don’t immediately launch in to what you need. By making this connection, you organically open the door to making the ask. Most importantly, don’t be afraid. What is the worst that is going to happen to you? Rejection is one of the most important parts of the game, so embrace it and roll with it.
