08 Jan Surviving Alzheimer’s in 2016
Alzheimer’s will touch one in every four of us – either you will have it or you will care for someone who does. There are doctors, researchers, and experts – but it was friends who had gone before me that helped the most. I am dedicating 2016 to helping others through this journey.
- This first Friday of 2016, and all Fridays to follow, the tip will be Alzheimer’s focused – fighting the disease and help for caregivers.
- The daily tip will continue as usual the rest of the week but will share equal space with the Alzheimer’s tip on the website home page. A redesign is in work.
- There will be a live video conference on Facebook the last Friday of every month where I (and others) will answer your questions about Alzheimer’s. Follow me for details and to gain access to the free video.
I’m very proud of what co-author Heather Rossiello and I have done here. I think Mom would be too.
With unfiltered observations and sometimes dark humor, author Dayna Steele chronicled her mother’s journey with Alzheimer’s on Facebook. This collection of Alzheimer’s updates posted on the social media network includes biting humor and raw emotion as Dayna carries you from the diagnosis to the inevitable end. This is a journey way too many of us are going to experience in one way or another. If you have to experience Alzheimer’s – and chances are you will – do it like Dayna with love, wit and wine.
