20 Jan Send me this amount of money
If you need to ask for money, be very clear as to the amount you need and for what. When I am not wearing my consultant/speaker/writer hat, I have on my wife/mom/school booster club hat. Currently, I’m raising money for a small, cash-challenged senior class of really smart kids. I need $1500 (tax deductible) to give these kids a senior week other students take for granted. For the short period of time I have been on the booster club board this is what I have learned – be very short and very clear on what you need and why. The people who can do this for you don’t have time for anything else. And, if they say no, say thank you graciously and move on.
Don’t think this is just advice for school fundraising. This goes for anything. Successful people can help you. Successful people are busy – that’s why they are successful. Don’t waste their time.

By the way, this has absolutely nothing to do with today’s tip. There’s a new Pee Wee Herman movie coming. That makes me happy. Have a great day.
