15 Feb No Facebook groups please
Don’t sign people up for things without their permission – your Facebook group, your email list, and more. Do not add anyone to your Facebook group without permission. If you want someone in a group, send them a private invitation. If they want to join your group, they will. Do not add anyone to your email newsletter list without permission. If you want someone on your list, send them a private invitation. If they want to join your list, they will.
By the way, you may be a member of one or more Facebook groups without even knowing it – check your Facebook groups occasionally to make sure you haven’t been signed up for anything – especially for something controversial. Facebook doesn’t give you the chance to opt-in, you may only opt-out of these groups, so make it a habit to check. So-called “friends” can add you to all kinds of groups on Facebook.
