It’s the right thing to do

Bengals Devon StillYou are a grown adult. You know what is right and what is wrong. Make your decisions, business and personal, based on that – not on money, the bottom line, the stockholders, your profits. When you do the right thing, it comes back to you in so many ways. Maybe not immediately, but eventually. Same works when you do the wrong things for the wrong reasons. Ask the Ravens and the NFL brass about that.

Let’s head into the weekend with a much better story. The Bengals get it. The team cut Devon Still then put him on the practice roster so he could keep his medical insurance for his 4-year-old daughter’s cancer treatments. He did really well at practice and was just moved back to the active roster. His jersey is now the #1 selling jersey in the team’s history and the team is donating the proceeds to pediatric cancer research. Even New Orleans Saints Coach Sean Payton bought 100 of the jerseys. That, my friend, is doing the right thing. Read the story here. Buy a jersey here.

It takes three hours, it’s uncomfortable, and I do it as often as I can

Steeleworker Beverly Butler had me with the photo. Bev and Sammy Hagar were both at an event honoring those who give – in time, donations, and blood. So, when she suggested this guest post, I said hell yeah! People who give blood are noble. Those of us who donate platelets during work hours (thank you, Boss!) have taken […]
