There are a few pesky words that seem to trip up even the most educated of folks. Here is a culprit that popped up this morning – twice – on a national morning news program: especially. Especially is pronounced i speSHəlē. It is not pronounced ex speSHəlē. There is no ex in especially. File this away with the tips on any hoo, your, you’re, affect and effect.
