05 Feb How to ask for a raise or become CEO
Google announced this week that the search giant has given its chairman Eric Schmidt $100 million in stock and a $6 million cash bonus because of the company’s performance in 2013 (CNN Money). Also this week, Microsoft announces Satya Nadella will be the company’s new CEO because of his past performance with the company (Time). The key word here to both is performance. If you are going to ask for a raise or a promotion, you must be able to articulate what you have done for the organization and come prepared with actual facts that show you have improved the company’s performance – and can continue to do so in the future. Would you give yourself a raise?
Happy Hump Day. Is this a long week or is it just me…
