10 Sep RSVP: Please reply in English or French
RSVP: abbr. French: répondez s’il vous plaît (please reply). Key words in this definition – Please Reply. When you are invited to a meeting, a lunch, a dinner, a party – anything, business or personal – let the sender know if you are attending or not, especially when the invitation specifically asks for a reply or RSVP. It is time consuming for the organizer to have to get in touch with you to get an answer. Then, if you reply “yes,” know that you are taking a seat, a meal has possibly been paid for, and more. When you reply in the affirmative and then do not show up, you have left an empty seat, maybe wasted someone else’s money and, worst of all, just set a personal brand you do not want.
