11 Feb What you can learn from Michael Sam about social media
Hitchcock, Texas native Michael Sam came out as a gay man to his University of Missouri teammates last August. He came out to the rest of the world this week. The fact that Sam is gay is not the story. The fact that he is an outstanding young man as well as an outstanding football player is not the story. The fact that he is set to become the first openly gay NFL player is not the story. The story is that his entire team as well as coaches and support staff, probably around 150 people, kept his secret for six months. Not one person tweeted, shared, posted or tagged Sam in a way that betrayed his confidence.

I love the city of New Orleans. I love the food, the people, the history – and – the football. Tales from the New Orleans Saints Sideline: A Collection of the Greatest Saints Stories Ever Told (Tales from the Team) captures the Saints rich history that reflects the unique character of their hometown – always colorful, sometimes sinful, and utterly unpredictable. I would never pretend to know that much about football and the draft decisions made by teams but I think this city would welcome Sam with open arms. And a cocktail.
