10 Oct Are you always here?
Martin Traub-Werner, CEO of VetSuccess, sent this tip: Early in my career someone suggested get to work shortly before your manager and leave shortly after. Do that and you are quickly the reliable person that is always available. Martin was responding to a previous YDST tip But I leave work at 5:00. However, several people commented how unfair that is if you are an hourly wage employee. Listen to me. It is not about “fair,” it is about your desire to succeed. Eventually, extra effort pays off. I have always said that first radio station in Houston gave me a full-time shift so I would go home every once in awhile. And, if you are the manager, be there before the customers need you.
That is the difference between success and just getting by. Period.
